New Review – Moxy Frankfurt Airport (FRA)

Introduction

Even though it might seem like “another Moxy,” I decided to visit this one and share my thoughts and experiences from my short stay in this review. Moxy hotels are known for their modern, youthful vibe and efficient service, making them a popular choice for travelers looking for a hassle-free stay.

Booking

Everything was quite last-minute, but I managed to book this Moxy at the airport through the Cashback website at a good price. For comparison, the Sheraton or Hilton were both over €100 more expensive, and since I was only staying briefly, I opted for the Moxy. This decision was largely driven by the cost savings, as I didn’t need the extensive amenities offered by more luxurious hotels. There’s no shuttle service from the airport, but you can take the train; I chose a taxi, which only took a few minutes. This convenience is important for travelers with limited time or those who prefer not to deal with public transportation.

Check In

As is typical, check-in was done at the bar. You need to appreciate the concept and the laid-back atmosphere, and if that’s okay with you, it works well. Moxy hotels are designed to be social spaces, so the bar doubles as a reception area, which can be a fun and relaxed way to start your stay. As always at Moxy, there was no choice between an alcoholic or non-alcoholic welcome drink. I also received 500 points since I was planning to have breakfast in First Class the next morning. With the card, I quickly made my way to my room.

Room

No big surprise here; it’s a Moxy, so you know what to expect.

On the left side, there’s a small bathroom equipped with large dispensers in the shower, typical of Moxy hotels. The rooms are compact but efficiently designed, which is perfect for short stays where you don’t need a lot of space.

Amenities

On the ground floor near reception, there are plenty of seating and chill-out areas, a small fitness center, and meeting rooms. You just need to look around a bit to find them. Moxy hotels are designed to be communal spaces, so these areas are great for socializing or getting some work done.

I could only briefly photograph the breakfast because it was very crowded in the morning. I find the selection absolutely okay and very similar to other Moxy hotels. There’s also an “ironing room” on the floor, which is a thoughtful touch for travelers who need to look sharp for meetings or events.

Additionally, there’s a nice service if it rains—a complimentary umbrella rental. This kind of attention to detail shows that Moxy is considerate of its guests’ needs beyond just providing a room.

Check Out

This was very quick, and I immediately received the invoice, which was correct. In between, I was able to book a taxi, which worked out perfectly. The efficient check-out process is important for travelers with early flights or tight schedules.

Conclusion

At certain price differences, I’m happy to look a bit further, and here I know exactly what I’m getting. For me, Moxy is absolutely solid for a night’s stay. It’s not more than that, but I’m aware of that when booking. Moxy hotels offer a consistent experience that’s reliable for short stays, especially when budget is a consideration. They provide a modern, efficient, and social environment that’s perfect for travelers who want a hassle-free experience without breaking the bank.
