New Review Rio de Janeiro – Hilton Barra

Booking

Brazil was my destination as part of an exciting flight deal, and as I wanted to relax a little, I booked the onward flight to Rio de Janeiro at the same time.

In Rio, it was clear that I wanted to try out another Hilton in addition to the Copacabana. The Hilton Barra had an attractive rate at the time and I was able to see something else of Rio. I booked the hotel via the Hilton website.

Location

The location is in the modern Barra district, which is also ideal for shopping. It is also relatively safe by the standards of the area. Depending on the time of day, it takes between 45 minutes and an hour to get from the airports and Copacabana. There is also a private airport nearby, which occasionally handles scheduled flights.

Check In

The check-in in the evening went smoothly and pleasantly. The hotel was explained to me and where it was relatively safe to stay during the day. As a Diamond Member, I received an upgrade to a suite.

Room

The first impression of the room is quite good. The good lighting is important when you come home at night. On the right-hand side is the bathroom with WC and shower. As usual, the most necessary care products (shower gel and shampoo) are available. What I really enjoyed were the flip flops that were in the room.

In the spacious room itself, there is seating in addition to the large bed.

The TV with the relevant channels is easily visible from the bed. As usual, there is a safe, ironing board, coffee machine and a small selection of snacks.

Restaurant

Breakfast is available as a well-stocked buffet, for Diamond Members there is a separate dining area where requests for freshly prepared egg dishes are accepted. The generous buffet leaves nothing to be desired. The fresh fruit and juices are a dream.

Amenities

The hotel has a well-equipped fitness center, which offers everything you need for a workout and a nice view. The rooftop pool is spacious, unfortunately I couldn’t test it due to the bad weather.

The lounge does not offer breakfast, but is a cozy place to work or hold a meeting.

Check Out

The check-out was again uncomplicated and friendly, and I took an Uber to GIG Airport.

Conclusion

The new hotel is beautiful and offers a pleasant atmosphere. I would definitely come back again.
