New Review – Hilton Vienna Plaza (Room Upgrade)

Introduction

Sometimes you should not only collect points but also use them skillfully. With very high cash rates, the Hilton Vienna Park gave us the opportunity to make good use of the points. I earned a total of 119,000 points, which was much better than cash rates of around EUR 300.

In my opinion, the location is also very good, at Schottenring 11 you can easily reach the hotel by streetcar or the nearby underground stations.

Check In

The hotel has a very nice entrance area which I really liked.

A very generous upgrade was already indicated in the app. This was then also confirmed here by the very polite employee. However, there was probably a mix-up with the room card, which is perhaps also the reason why there was no welcome card or similar. Nevertheless, I was extremely pleased with the upgrade to the Penthouse Royal Suite.

There is also a small Hilton supermarket near the check-in area where you can buy all kinds of refreshments etc.

Room

The room has a circular floor plan that extends over 85 square meters. The rooms are arranged in such a way that you can move continuously from one room to the next and finally return to the room you came from.

From the entrance area, you walk straight ahead into a comfortable living area with a couch, TV, minibar, etc.

The minibar is not stocked, but there is a nice Nespresso machine and a kettle for tea.

We continue into the bedroom, which impresses with a very large and comfortable bed. Here you have also thought of one or two sockets so that you can charge everything.

The green couch looks a little more comfortable than it actually is. But the color still fits very well into the overall concept.

We then move on to a large dressing room with wardrobes and more than enough space.

Before you know it, you’re already in the bathroom next to the dressing room. In addition to a shower, there is also a bathtub and plenty of space to spread out your clothes.

A highlight of the room is definitely the beautiful terrace with a breathtaking view over Vienna. Sufficient seating has also been provided, all of which is very comfortable and makes the time there fly by.

Amenities

The Hilton has an Executive Lounge on the second floor which you can access with your room card. It is very open and has various seating areas as well as an extra work area. However, employees are rarely to be found here.

Breakfast is also served here in the morning, with free soft drinks throughout the day and a happy hour in the evening with a variety of small snacks and self-service alcoholic drinks. However, I experienced a much better selection here at the Hilton Vienna Park.

Breakfast in the Executive Lounge:

Happy Hour:

As a Hilton Diamond Member, I was also able to have breakfast in the restaurant. Here you have a much larger selection of dishes, and fresh egg dishes are also brought on request.

In any case, the quality of the food was outstandingly good. The vegetarian and vegan selection also stood out, such as cold cuts, hummus and other spreads.

If you still want to have (non-vegan) Läberkäse for breakfast, you will also get your money’s worth here. I also really enjoyed the juices on offer.

However, from a certain point in the morning, the service seemed very stressed and not as relaxed as you would like it to be.

The Hilton also has a fitness room. The equipment is new and available in sufficient numbers.

Unfortunately, both the Hilton Vienna Plaza and the Hilton Vienna Park do not have a pool. By the way, I can also highly recommend the Hilton Vienna Park (my old review is here, a new one will follow).

Check Out

Unfortunately I didn’t get a late check out because the room was needed. However, in my opinion this situation was solved very well. I was able to leave my luggage at reception and was given an extra key for the lounge to have a drink.

Conclusion

A very nice hotel with a central location from which you can reach the most important sights very quickly on foot. Plus a great room with a stunning view – what more could you want? Only the selection in the Executive Lounge could be a little better. However, I would gladly return to this Hilton hotel again.
