New Review Economy – Turkish Airlines (TK)

And once again it’s off to Dubai, one is inclined to say, this time the price was the deciding factor and to try out the Economy of Turkish Airlines

Booking

I booked the flight directly via the Turkish Airlines website, the goal was a long layover in Dubai, but still a little lounging in Istanbul, you can find the review of the Turkish Airlines Lounge here.

Check-In

The check-in in Zurich went smoothly, as we were traveling as a couple, we wanted to sit next to each other. This was possible without any problems, as we didn’t want to pay extra for seats, we were allocated seats at the back of the aircraft.

Security check and passport control

The security check went smoothly and quickly. For a change (summer 2023), the electronic passport controls were also active, so you didn’t have to queue with a Swiss or EU passport

After passport control, we had enough time to visit the Senator Lounge in Terminal E, you can find a review here.

Boarding started on time, with the Business Class guests and status customers first, the advantage is that you can use the overhead bins with hand luggage without them being full.

Cabin

The cabin in the Airbus A330 was furnished in the classic 2-4-2 in Economy, in the Boeing 777-300ER it is the familiar 3-4-3.

The entertainment system has a generous selection of movies, series and music. The headphones are of average quality, but are sufficient for the short trip.

The seats are elegantly colored and have a comfortable seat quality, always bearing in mind that it is Economy.

Catering

I opted for different meals on the four flights.

The selection of drinks was good and there was a regular drinks service.

Conclusion

For short/medium distances, it is certainly an alternative to the more expensive direct flights if the offer is attractively priced.
