New Review – Hampton by Hilton Riga Airport (RIX)

Location and booking

The Hampton by Hilton Riga Airport is very close to Riga Airport. The ride on the Bolt took just three minutes – but it cost almost as much as a ride into the city.

I booked it directly with Hilton, and the rate of EUR 42 was really extremely cheap. I also added the points / nights / stay to my account and it worked out well.

Check In

Strange. Simply strange. I was helped quickly but the way I was treated raises some questions. Sure you can’t expect too much at a Hampton, on the other hand I’ve been to a few and so far this was the worst experience. I was able to choose a chocolate bar and drink from the fridge – but not what I wanted although they said you could have anything …. In short: Red Bull is not available, but it was just the tone that didn’t fit at all.

Room

Typical Hampton I would say. It was very clean and had everything I needed for my stay.

On the left side is the bathroom which is not big but sufficient.

It also has a chest of drawers with a kettle, safe and free bottles of water, which I always find a very nice gesture.

The bed itself and the sitting area next to it were very comfortable and absolutely sufficient for me. In addition, there are enough power sockets, which I am always very happy about.

On the other side of the bed is a fairly large television. There is a chair in front of it, but the shelf in front of it is not really suitable for working.

Amenities

First of all: unfortunately I was unable to test the breakfast due to time constraints. However, as usual with Hampton, this is included.

However, there is a small gym which you can use 24/7:

In addition to the check-in, there is also a bar and plenty of seating, which I found quite successful, but I didn’t really try it out (see above)

Check Out

I left the hotel because the Bolt arrived faster than expected and therefore only handed in the keys, the bill was correct and arrived very quickly by email.

Conclusion

The price of this Hampton by Hilton should be emphasized positively. However, the service and the location leave me a little pensive. It’s okay for a short stopover (or even for a mattes run if you don’t want to stay there that long), but for me it’s not enough for much more. Somehow the loud and unfriendly voice from the check-in still resonates….
