New Review – Hotel Hilton Budapest (BUD)

There are a large number of hotels in Budapest, but this time I had a somewhat longer stay in the city by my standards, so I opted for the Hilton Budapest. The booking was made via the Hilton app and the price was absolutely fair for a standard room.

Location

It was about 40 minutes by train from the airport. But then of course you are very centrally located at the castle and one of the landmarks of Budapest.

Check In

After a short wait, everything went well. The late check-out was not immediately available, but this could be confirmed later. Nevertheless, they were immediately very helpful and somehow also a little proud that they had a very nice room for me. Small spoiler: they didn’t exaggerate. A welcome letter contained all the useful information about the hotel.
The lobby is very large and somehow classy.

Zimmer

This upgrade from the inexpensive standard room was really extremely nice and successful. Instead of the standard room (just under EUR 100) we got the King Junior Danube Suite, which normally costs around EUR 350 (depending on the season). Hilton’s Diamond status really helped a lot here.

As soon as you enter the room, the entrance area awaits you – followed by a living area. It also has a Nespresso machine and a stocked minibar.

Behind this is the bedroom which, as always, has a large bed. However, the view is particularly beautiful here. You have this view from both the bedroom and the living area. For whatever reason, the pictures of the bedroom can no longer be found, I think I’ll have to take this as an opportunity to travel there again….

The bathroom is also very spacious.

However, the real highlight of the room is definitely the view. I had a view of the Danube and the Fishermen’s Bastion (Halászbástya) which was really beautiful.

Amenities

The lounge in the hotel is very large and has many different seating areas. There are also small alcoves with the old church windows.

The service at dinner was always very courteous and made sure that it was always clean.

In the evening there is a happy hour which attracted many guests. You could feel a bit of stress. Nevertheless, everything was very civilized at the end and they constantly cleaned up and refilled the food and drinks. All long drinks and wine were served directly.

Small snacks are available throughout the day in the self-service area in the lounge:

In the morning, you can have breakfast here as well as on the first floor. Unsurprisingly, the selection of dishes in the Executive Lounge is not as extensive as in the restaurant. Nevertheless, I was very pleasantly surprised by the selection here too.

Selection in the lounge:

Breakfast at the restaurant (not many pictures as it was really full).

There is also a fitness center in this hotel, which is large enough and well equipped for the size of the hotel.

Check Out

It took a moment but then the check-out was done and the invoice was sent to me by e-mail almost immediately as requested.

Conclusion

The location and of course the upgrade were a lot of fun. You can’t really go wrong here for the price you paid. The food in the lounge and the helpful manner of the staff make me very happy to return.
