New Review – DoubleTree by Hilton Milan Malpensa Solbiate Olona (MXP)

Location and Booking

Anyone who knows me knows that I usually prefer to book directly. This time too, I was able to book the DoubleTree quite cheaply directly via the Hilton website. A big advantage of the hotel is certainly that it offers a free shuttle. However, you are also pretty much in the middle of nowhere and you should be aware of that.

Check In

It was done quite quickly, but somehow I had the impression of being annoyed. Do you know that? A strange start, which I found a bit of a shame.

Room

Armed with the room cards, we went to the room.

A bit annoying because I seem to be missing some pictures, I’m still looking for them. But: the room was very clean and I liked that. The size was absolutely sufficient and there were enough sockets. There was also a bottle of water and I was more than satisfied for the short stay.

Amenities

I was made aware of the breakfast times (included thanks to Diamond status). Here I could only take a few pictures as the guests had positioned themselves “unfavorably” for the pictures. The food selection was wider than the pictures suggest. Not as luxurious as elsewhere, but by Italian standards you were well fed here.

There is also a small gym on the first floor.

Check Out

Very speedy and friendly. I was informed again about the next shuttle and asked if everything was to my satisfaction.

Concluson

With airport hotels, you often have to ask yourself the question “what is it worth to me”. I was able to stay here comfortably thanks to a cheap rate of around 90 euros and that was my goal. The Sheraton at the airport would have cost just under 200 euros and that wasn’t worth it to me. Plus there’s a new review with the conclusion: you can definitely do it for one night 🙂
