New Review – Sky Lounge Wien Flughafen (VIE)

Location and access

There are several lounges to choose from in the Schengen area of Terminal 3 at Vienna Airport. Right next to the Star Alliance Lounge is the Sky Lounge. You can gain access with the PriorityPass, among other things. If you do not yet have one, you can apply for it here.

There is a separate guide to the benefits of the Priority Pass which will be published soon.

The lounge is currently open daily from 04:30 am to 11:00pm.

Amenities

The lounge is actually just a large room divided into different seating areas. Here and there this seems a little arbitrary, but it is certainly a matter of taste.

At the very back of the lounge there is a small selection of drinks and some desserts.

On the right-hand side there is an adjoining room where you can find the food and drink menu. There is also the possibility to sit down and eat at a table. I found the selection quite good during my visit. I have to say it looked better than in the Austrian HON Lounge next door, but that’s my personal opinion.

As is so often the case, everything here is self-service. While I was there, dirty dishes were regularly cleared away. Unfortunately, the lounge was usually very busy, which made it difficult to take enough good pictures.

On the left side, behind the reception, there is a small room with tables that is ideal for working.

There are also toilets in the lounge, which were being cleaned during my visit, so I couldn’t take any decent pictures.

Conclusion

So if you have a little time to kill then you can’t go wrong with this lounge. I was pleasantly surprised by the food and drinks on offer, which I wouldn’t necessarily have expected for a contract lounge.
